A week ago, Emi had her first check up with the Kinderarzt. She was a wonderful woman who reminded us of Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter. Emi was so excited by the visit, she promptly pooped on the doctors table! Then she amazed the doctor with her ability to focus and track.
It was also during this visit that we learned that Emi will apparently be 6'4" by the time she is 3. That is if she keeps growing at the pace she is now. Emi was 54 cm (21.25 inches) and 3900 grams (8.6 pounds) when she was born. In just 5 short weeks she grew 6 cm and put on 800 grams (after gaining back the 400 she lost in the hospital). That means that she is now 10.36 pounds and 23.6 inches. So while she eats all the time, she just can't seem to get the rolls going just yet because her limbs are constantly stretching! Looking at percentiles is really kind of crazy...she's above the 97th for height and in the 3rd for weight (if you consider her height as well, if you just look at weight she's in the 60th or so). Let's just hope we can continue to feed and house this kid well into her teens!
