Once she got in the water, she seemed to enjoy herself. Rob took her for a few spins which caused her to stick her arms out wide and smile. Unfortunately, the water was cooler than it usually is so the trip was cut short as she her gums started to knock together. We look forward to future visits.
The rest of the weekend, we spent trying to clean our apartment in anticipation of our move to Frankfurt over the next few months. Currently, Rob works during the week in Frankfurt while Emi and I are here. As I transition into a consulting role at school for the year, Emi and I plan on spending more time in Frankfurt in the next two months.
While I have heard good things about Frankfurt, we will miss so many things about Dortmund, especially the friends we have made. Last week, Emi and I were out to dinner with my colleagues and yet I hardly saw Emi because she kept getting passed around the table. She really enjoys spending time with all of them which makes it harder to leave. We'll return frequently for visits though since I will be coming back for work.
Speaking of returning to people and places we love, we're also beginning to plan our trip home to the U.S. Emi and I will likely head home in late November. Rob will join us close to Christmas for a few weeks. I wish it were sooner, but hopefully we'll be home for a while (I'm hoping to stay for over a month) so it will make up for the long absence.
Seriously, this kid is a water baby. Now she just has to decide if she's free styler (distance or sprint) or an IM/flyer.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that Liza can still work a bit. I bet it would hard to leave after so short a time when you had such an great position.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wanted to say also, I hope our schedules in MN match up! I can't wait to see you both again, and meet Em.
