On Our Way Home

Yesterday, Emi and I made the return trip to Houston and were greeted by warm air, sunshine and M's Omi and Opi. Rob returned to Frankfurt on Monday and we will do the same on Saturday. It has been really hard for us to think about returning to a land where we still have a hard time communicting and don't really have many friends.

During our stay, we have often been asked what our plan is...for returning or not, how long we plan to stay, etc. The simple answer is always the same, "We don't know." We left for Germany with the idea of 2 years, but we didn't go with the idea of Miss M, so life changed rather dramatically, rather quickly. We still want time to enjoy traveling Europe and really experiencing our time without the limitations of my extremely hard pregnancy and life with a newborn. So who knows, we'll just have to see.

While in Minneapolis, my friend Jennifer spent some time with us in a coffee shop. Jennifer has a photographer's eye and takes amazing pictures. I thought I would share some here. For all of you we weren't able to see during our time home, we are so sorry. Life was very intense traveling around to see everyone and we also dealt with illness (all 3 of us off and on the entire time) and it simply is much harder to travel with an infant, our pace is much different now.
